Monthly Work Day
August 23 @ 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Volunteer on our Chiwaukee Prairie Work Days as we to restore quality habitat for prairie plants and animals. All we need is you to help! No experience necessary. On the job training! Dress for the weather, bring work gloves, and protective eyewear. We have tools and the equipment to get the job done. If the weather is warm, be sure to bring plenty of water. If you have questions, call Nathan at 262.694.7351. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign-in. We hope to see you there!
To keep up with the invasive plants this summer, we will be holding additional workdays between our regular monthly workdays. This weekend, an extra workday will be held Sunday, August 23 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Directions:
Follow 1st Court south from 116th Street just over a mile until you reach the end of 1st court, approximately 700 feet past the marina entry/just north of the state line. Park in the area shown on the map here or click here. Please do not block the orange gate or the bicycle path. We will be working west of the parking area walking on the path west of the orange gate.

What We’re Doing:
We will be searching for and pulling/bagging Queen Anne’s lace, white sweetclover, and mullein. Click here to view examples.
What to Bring:
- Appropriate footwear for rough ground.
- Appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Long pants and closed shoes are required.
- A daypack, sunscreen, tick repellent, gloves (we have some extras), and safety glasses are suggested.
- A water bottle(s) and snacks.
Workday cancellations will be posted on our website and Facebook by 8:00 AM on the workday. If you are unsure whether a workday will take place, please use good judgement when deciding whether or not to attend.
