Volunteer on our Chiwaukee Prairie Work Days as we to restore quality habitat for prairie plants and animals. All we need is you to help! No experience necessary. On the job training! Dress for the weather, bring work gloves, and protective eyewear. We have tools and the equipment to get the job done. If the weather is warm, be sure to bring plenty of water. If you have questions, call Nathan at 262.694.7351. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign-in. We hope to see you there!
On Saturday, October 19, we will again be collecting seed from natives and distributing it to an area cleared of brush earlier this year. The prediction is for mainly sunny skies, with a high near 68 degrees. Winds are expected to be SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Wear old, bright clothes, sturdy shoes or boots, hats and gloves. We supply tools, water, instructions, and answers to all your questions about the Prairie.
Meet at the gate at 122nd Street and 2nd Avenue. Click here for a map.
Workday cancellations will be posted on our website and Facebook by 8:00 AM on the workday. If you are unsure whether a workday will take place, please use good judgement when deciding whether or not to attend.
