Extra Work Day

To keep up with the invasive plants this summer, we will be holding additional workdays between our regular monthly workdays.

The 9:00 AM meeting place will be just north of 115th Street along the west side of 4th Avenue. After meeting, we plan to walk south of 116th Street into the savanna that is east of the railroad. PLEASE NOTE: If the Saturday work day completes the area ahead of schedule, we may instead go elsewhere upon meeting at 9:00 AM. If you are late in arriving and see no vehicles, please call/text to find out where we are.

What We’re Doing:

We will be removing Queen Anne’s Lace, White Sweet Clover, and a few additional species. Click here to view examples.

What to Bring: 

• Appropriate footwear for rough ground. Bring knee high boots if you have them (optional).
• Appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.
• A daypack, sunscreen, tick repellent, leather gloves, and safety glasses.
• A water bottle(s) and snacks.

There will be a liability and waiver form for volunteers to sign before the start of work. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign-in. We hope to see you there!
