Extra Work Day

To keep up with the invasive plants this summer, we will be holding additional workdays between our regular monthly workdays. This week, extra workdays will be held Wednesday, July 3, Thursday, July 4, and Saturday, July 6, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The 9:00 AM meeting place on these three days will be at 122nd Street and 2nd Avenue, by the orange gate. What We’re Doing:

We will be removing White and Yellow Sweet Clover, Queen Anne’s Lace, Deptford Pink, and a few additional species. Click here to view examples.

What to Bring: 

• Appropriate footwear for rough ground. 
• Appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.
• A daypack, sunscreen, tick repellent, leather gloves, and safety glasses.
• A water bottle(s) and snacks.

There will be a liability and waiver form for volunteers to sign before the start of work. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign-in. We hope to see you there!

The prediction at this time is for partly sunny to sunny skies. Winds on Wednesday are expected to be W at 10-15 mph with a high temperature of around 81 °F. On Thursday, winds may be variable at 3-8 mph with a high temperature of 81 °F. Saturday winds are expected to be W at 13-22 mph with a high temperature of around 75 °F.
